Cruise Studio hosted a 3Muses Workshop last Summer with the help of FAVE model Juno LTK, here's some of the behind the scenes action:
Look at all this amazing work shot at my studio during the last workshop here with models Juno LTK + 1. Big Thank You to our models who really brought the heat! And BIG Special Thank You to all our participating photographers who sent us work to post!! I'm truly blown away by the caliber of work produced. This was the first workshop event of this size that I've hosted here and it showed me so much about the potential for bringing people together and creating beautiful photos.
The event as a whole was a great success with a lot of learning takeaways. I love the idea of hosting my favorite guest models at my studio and helping photographers get great images by providing the model, location, styling, and fun vibes! The main challenge was that it was hard to have an intimate sense with the models in a tight group setting. I think the studio lends itself best to small team, intimate shoots, so my next focus will be on creating a more one-on-one experience and seeing how it goes... Stay tuned for more developments on that. In the meantime please enjoy these beautiful images created by participant photographers at the 3Muses workshop last June. I hope you feel supported in your creativity and ready to join me for more events in 2020... This is an interview I did with Juno from the last workshop at my studio. Originally published at the 3Muses Blog. How long have you been modeling?
I did my first shoot with a professional photographer 5 years ago and then modeled off and on for a while before I started modeling full time until 2016. How long have you been photographing and what do you like to shoot? I've been taking photos since I was 16 when I got my first film camera. When I was first starting out, I was mostly just messing around and experimenting with different expired films, taking photos of my friends and weird things around my small town. I started being more mindful of what I was shooting when I was around 19 or 20. Now I mostly take photos when I'm out on road trips or going on backpacking adventures, so lots of landscapes and some more specific outdoor projects. About a year ago I began taking self portraits and shooting other humans. I mostly just like to shoot whatever feels good. If you could have any super power what would it be? Teleportation! I would love to be able to snap my fingers and zoom myself out of the city and into the woods whenever I pleased. What’s your favorite #? 33 What’s your astrology? (whatever you know) I'm a Capricorn Sun, Pisces Rising, Capricorn Moon and Pisces Venus ^_^ Who’s your favorite photographer, living or dead, and why? I gotta go with two here. Jo Spence, for sure. The self portraits she took processing her experience of living with breast cancer and the ways in which she politicized her art have always been deeply inspiring to me. I'm also a huge fan of Francesca Woodman's photography. She created such an amazing body of work before her early death at age 22. Who in your life has had a big impact on your creativity and experience as an Artist? I didn't really start sharing anything that I created until more recently. I think that by only sharing my works with people who I don't know very well or through the level of anonymity which the internet provides, my projects get to remain, at least mostly, personal. Are you good at math? If I really sit down and try but I'd rather not! Haha! What’s one thing you would tell your younger self if you could? It doesn't "get better," but you will get better at moving through it. If you could travel in time where and when would you go? This is a great question. Probably to an Edwardian Bedroom in the early 1900s so I could be a part of that good good boudoir. If you could do a 3Muses Workshop anywhere in the world where would it be? 6 months ago I would have said Iceland, but I went to Iceland and it's way too cold there for this California baby, so probably Greece or maybe Hawaii! Who's your current model crush (another model who's work you greatly admire)? Hannah Johnson from North Carolina! (Instagram @helisabethjohnson) She is a modelographer, too, and shoots exclusively with film. I had the honor and pleasure of working with her earlier this year! How can we follow and support your work? I'm on Instagram @juno_LTK if you'd like to follow and I also have a Patreon at www.patreon.com/junoltk if you'd like to support! Thanks Juno for taking time out of your busy schedule to give us a glimpse into your rich inner world! The following images are examples of Juno's Film Photography: I've had the pleasure of working with the great photographer Kim Weston for his workshops on numerous occasions. I have also had the pleasure of attending Kim's workshop as a photographer. It is not an exaggeration to say that these experiences have changed me, fundamentally, forever. Kim Weston is the living embodiment of his craft as a master photographer. He lives the legacy of generations of Great Photographers and his son Zach is an incredible manifestation of this spirit too. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend that any serious photographer experience this living legend's teachings, presence, and creations. The Weston Family home on Wildcat Hill is a singular experience unto itself- retaining the character and history of the late Edward Weston- including his desk and darkroom. If you're familiar with the Carmel area you can understand the magic of this terrain. Kim's wife Gina is an instrumental part of the business and community and the way they nurture and nourish the Arts here is incredibly inspiring. I hope you enjoy these photos of some of the work that I've created with photographers at the Weston Workshop:
